Bel Canto “Christmas in the Basilica”
|
The Basilica of St. Josaphat has become a preferred venue for the Bel Canto Chorus, the MSO, the Concord Chamber Orchestra and other groups. The landmark South Side building, with its riotous acoustics and interior decor, especially fits holiday concerts. People love the place.
Conductor Richard Hynson and the Bel Canto — along with the Bel Canto Boy Choirs and the Milwaukee Handbell Ensemble — gave Christmas programs there Saturday night and Sunday afternoon (Dec. 10-11) for sellout crowds. The place sold out. TCD’s Robert Bundy was there with his camera Saturday. The images are so lovely you can almost hear the music.
